There is no cosmetic for beauty like happiness.

Ward Trunk or Treat

The best part of Halloween is definitely the dress-ups.  It is so much fun to imagine the possibilities in a fun costume.
These crazy kids invaded the dress up bucket- luckily some of us are never too old.  I on the other hand- am!  I had several people comment on how strange it was to have actual sweaters for our cheer outfits and much more modest length skirts.
I thought I had seen those kids in those same costumes back in 2005.  Amazing how the time has flown!
Katry and her buddies!
Brigham and Tanner- the dynamic duo.  A couple in the ward owns a Jamba Juice.  They also wore these on Halloween Night and jumped out of bushes etc. scarring kids who are too old to be trick or treating- or so they said.
The crew manning the trunk after getting their own loot!

Loving Sundays

We LOVE Sundays!
Wrestling, Playing Lightning....
Making Caramel Apples
Eating Caramel Apples
Fire Blazing,  Swinging, Waterfall
Singing Songs, Lively Chatter
Marching to Onward Christian Soldiers
Seth offered to have us sing- I Have A Green Thing Here on Earth- to which Kai piped up- Hey, I know that song! :)
Kai only stepped on the fire twice!
"Hope . . . is like the beam of sunlight rising up and above the horizon of our present circumstances. It pierces the darkness with a brilliant dawn. It encourages and inspires us to place our trust in the loving care of our Heavenly Father. God the Father watches over us, fills our hearts with breathtaking joy, brightens our darkest hours with blessed peace, distills upon our minds precious truths, shepherds us through times of distress, and rejoices when we rejoice" -Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Halloween Preview

Seth dug into our dress-ups to find a few gems.
Dad offered him 10 bucks to wear it to the trunk or treat.
It was a "no go", but I am definitely thinking Blackmail!
Definitely!

Look Who's Driving

That's right Folks!
The big guy got his license at 15.2 years old!
Love Idaho!
No more driving him to 6am soccer practice!  Yea!
Freedom!!!!
Oh and he LOVES it too!

New Song

Kai was asked to choose a song one night for our evening devotional.  He chose- I Have A Green Thing Here on Earth.  In case you haven't heard of it- it is a compilation of "There Is A Green Hill Far Away" and "I Have a Family Here on Earth".  That Kai Guy- he keeps us laughing!

Good Times!

Auntie J, Uncle Mark and Grandma Great came to stay with us for a few days.  My kids had a blast.  Mark and J had them entertained from sunrise to sundown.  There was a great sadness when they left town.  They helped with homework, played games, read stories, helped haul dirt and harvest potatoes, beets and carrots.
They came and cheered Seth on to victory, cheered the Cougs on to victory, made some delicious meals and partied up a storm.  We LOVED having you!  Thanks so much for coming!

Thanks for all the LOVE!

Is There A Problem Here?

I may or may not have been moving too quickly here.
Gotta grind the wheat before making bread.

Love Shack

It's a little ol' place where we can get together
and store our lawn mower and such.
It was a great family project.
Grandpa and GmaT even helped paint it.
Good Times!

A Grand Weekend

We were so lucky to have Gmat, Grandpa and Grandma great come up and join us this weekend.
They came up to cheer on our kids as they had a big weekend.  We had 2 Championship games and 1 State Playoff game.  It was so fun to have them here, but we had a rough weekend.  Katry's team lost to 0-7 to a team they had just beaten 5-1 the week before.  Ouch.  Then Seth's team really struggled against a team that they had beaten in an early season game.  Those were the championship games.  Brigham had a great game against  a team that they had lost to once and beaten once.  They went into overtime with a "golden goal" ending.  The opposing team scored in the first three minutes after a defensive fluke.  They were all hard losses.  Ouch!
It was so nice to forget our sorrows while visiting  and cheering on the Cougs with our great family.
Thanks for coming!  We love you!

Sunday Dinner

I love Sunday dinners.  Everybody works on it together.  It is so much fun to gather around our kitchen island and talk and joke and enjoy each others company.  Then we all sit down together and enjoy the fruits of our labors.  It is a beautiful thing.  Last Sunday we made Crab Rangoon and Butter Yakki.  It was perfection!

Rumple Bread

Sometimes things happen and you realize you haven't taught the kids something that you thought you had.
Like shaping the dough before you put it in the bread pan.
But hey- it looks like artisan bread now!  Sweet!
