Blast Off and Piano Lessons

Woe is us! Brigham is out of town right now. He is in Vegas at the Ortho Academy. We are missing him. Luckily we had a nice diversion last night. It was customer appreciation night at a local "fun zone". (Brigham is a customer that places adds in their magazine.) Anyway, we got to go and spend some energy. The kids had a blast climbing through this big maze and having "ball wars". Their strategy was to lie on their backs so the balls were easily accessible and then launch them. They were clear winners. I admit, I have a phobia for ball pits. I read an article once about the dangers of them. The kids emptied one whole section of balls though, and I was relieved to see there were no syringes or feces on the bottom. :(
This poor little fellow was so frustrated. He would pick up a ball inside the net and struggle to get it out. Seth helped him out by wiggling a ball out for him. We also played some mini-golf and ate hamburgers. They had all the soda you could stomach. Poor Katry is not drinking soda right now for a challenge at school. She was a real trooper- and just drank lemonade. Way to stay strong sweetie!
We played several rounds of lazer tag. The kids are going to try to talk Dad into setting up a course in our new house. It was a blast.
The kids started piano lessons a month or so ago. Katry complained that she didn't want to have lessons with that "old lady". They all went through withdrawals not having their young and fun teacher- Sister Shirts. We miss you!
Kaleb is providing lessons for Kai, who is easily distracted. Together though, they are very, very CUTE, and make really fun MUSIC!

Love Fest!

Saturday morning after Seth & Katry's soccer game we loaded up Zorro and headed down to Utah. We left the kids at the Redds and headed down to SLC for dinner with the Thompsons. We ate at Bucca Di Peppo with 26 other Love Birds (parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, siblings, and friends). Good times! After dinner the rest of the family headed to a performance and we headed back to Farmington to our little ones.

Sunday was Grandpa Naegle's 87th birthday celebration. We enjoyed wishing him well with a delicious dinner, dessert and fabulous company. After dinner we played a rousing game of 5's. Fortunately, Ashlee and Staven were able to get a lot of great name ideas for their baby! :) Names like- Willhelm, Zion Zurg and Fredrick Franken. It was a fun-filled day.
Monday the kids had off of school. The Whites also came to Farmington last weekend. They were heading to Park City, to tame the tubing hills and invited our kids to join them. I wish they had the camera there. They had such a blast. Their tubes were hooked to a pulley which they rode to the top of the hill. That's my kind of tubing. You just get to relax and enjoy. :) When they got home- we had a fun lunch, loaded up Zorro and headed back to the Great North. It was a fun weekend loaded with LOVE!

Love is everything it's cracked up to be. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don't risk anything, you risk even more. Erica Jong

Love Feast!

There is more hunger for love and appreciation in this world than for bread. Mother Teresa Friday the 13th, we had our families "Love Feast". We eat by candle light on our fancy dishes and enjoy a tasty meal. This year we had stuffed shells. They turned out really delicious. The kids all had a little valentine treat on their plate from mom and dad. At the end of the meal we opened up the bubbly and we took turns talking about what we love about each other and then toasting them. What a delightful family we have. Thanks for all the LOVE!
