It has been a fantastic week of LOVE! What a great holiday and time to celebrate ALL kinds of love. Here are some of the fun things we did.
We made heart shaped pizza and watched some soccer games which we LOVE.
We made some delicious Valentine bark. Just break up some pretzels- cover it with melted chocolate and sprinkle on your favorite toppings. We also made some pink, heart shaped popcorn balls for an after school snack- but we forgot the photo.
Kaleb made these adorable Valentines of Love for everyone. I love all their different facial expressions and especially their toothy grins.
Seth made this Valentine box to catch all the messages of LOVE sent his way. He built a catapult on top to toss the candy into his box.
I am the Room Mom in Seth's class this year so we planned his class's party and Kaleb joined us for the fun. We played Buzz Bomber Balloons where they held on to the end of a blown up balloon then let it go - trying to hit the heart target on the ground. We also played Valentine Bingo, "Do you Love your neighbor", and guessing how many candy hearts are in a jar. It was a blast.
Sunday night we had our traditional candlelight Love Feast. This year the kids chose pork tenderloin and steaks. We also had Potatoes Alfredo- so good, rolls and a big green salad. For our love juice we drank sparkling cider. We went around the table and toasted each other with things we love about each other. It is such a great feeling to hear all the things that your kids love about each other. The kids all got a box of chocolates. Brigham gave me beautiful red and white roses and a big box of chocolates. All to keep me company this week while he is out of town. :)
Katry made up our Hearts of Love this year for everyone. We all wrote down something else that we love about each other. We enjoyed a lot of laughs. I love this circle of our families LOVE.
There is nothing better!
Love this quote my Mom sent us:
"For children, love is a feeling; for adults, it is a decision. Children wait to learn if their love is true by seeing how long it lasts; adults make their love true by never wavering from their commitment." Pathfinder, Orson Scott Card
