Split

We took a  rental car from Budapest and drove to Zagreb, Croatia- 3.5 hours.
We found the hotel we were staying at on our return, left our car and the owner of the hotel drove us to the train station.  So nice of him.  We got there at 9:55pm.  Saw a train was leaving to Split at 10pm and bought our tickets and jumped on.  Then we got on the train and realized that we had forgotten to purchase tickets that included a bed- since it was an overnight train.  Ay yai yai!  They were all full of course- so we looked for a compartment- which were all full of course. We ended up splitting up into two rooms and barely sleeping a wink all night long.  It is forever known as the Train Ride of Terror!
Not exactly looking bright eyed and bushy tailed- but enjoying the lovely weather and beautiful city.  This is the remains of Diocletian's palace.  He moved here after retiring from office.

Thank heavens for this lovely park with shade and a place to rest.

We purchased some food in a farmer's market and
I loved the scales they used to weigh out our produce.
Split is right on the Dalmation Coast- the Croatian Riviera.
Catching a few zzzzzz's.
