For my boys, the top attraction in any foreign country is castle climbing. They don't want to see fancy pants castles, they want ruins that they can climb around on,
explore and let their imaginations run wild.
These ruins fit the bill nicely.
These fortification walls were built in the 11th century.
Dvigrad was abandoned by 1714. A few of the things that led to its demise were its large amount of wealth(greed etc), strategic location (so it was always being fought over) and several bouts of the plague( you know... death killing large amounts of the population).

Yes, this castle was definitely the highlight of the day!
