The Church of the Holy Spirit.  Inside it has a relief of three men representing the Holy Trinity.  Heavenly Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit as represented not by a dove, but as a balding man.

This is a farm house where we stopped and ate lunch.

We drank dandelion tea and other local deliciousness.

This is where we spent the night at a tourist farm.  Our trip was complete with the local delicacy- kislo mleko- or soured milk.  It tasted like yogurt.  They served it for dessert with berries.

It was truly perfection and a great way to end our trip. 

Slovenjia: Lubljiana

Sunday morning we found this cheery little church to attend.  It just so happens that this is the very area where Uncle Mark served and this church was being built while he was here.  The members were awesome.  We attended sacrament meeting and two cute elders translated for us.  It was a great experience for the kids to experience church outside of their norm and most especially to feel the power of the Holy Ghost as we partook of the sacrament and worshipped with these saints.

The church is true all over the world!  It was especially neat- because Brig could be out doing this very work within a year.  That is crazy and exciting!

Slovenja: Vintgar Gorge

Vintgar Gorge is located near Lake Bled.  It is stunning.  I noticed that more than anywhere else, these pictures do not do it justice.  

They have a lovely walkway through the gorge ending at a beautiful waterfall.

The water is so clear, I bet we could see at least 15 feet below the surface of the water.

This kid will not stay on the trail.

Slovenja: Triglav National Park

Loved seeing these signs!  So descriptive!

We spent a day driving through the Julian Alps in Triglav National Park.  It was not a drive for the faint of heart.  It had more than 50 hairpin turns- most of which were numbered, just to let you know how many more you had to endure.  Twenty six up, twenty four down and several more that weren't numbered.  Add in the mix- 500 motorcyclists that don't stay in their lane and you don't stand a chance of falling asleep!

Fifty-six percent of the country is covered in forests- Europe's second greenest.

Top of the World!

The road was built during WWI by at least 10,000 Russian POW's.  They lived and worked in terrible conditions.  Many were killed due to illness, exposure and avalanches.  The Russian Orthodox chapel above was built where the last casualty was found after a massive avalanche in 1916

 chips and lots of juice.
