Memorial Weekend

Sadly, our little family had to divide and conquer for Memorial Weekend.  Katry had  a soccer tournament in Utah and Brig had a tournament in Boise.  So Brigham and I each took three kids and conquered.  

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures from the Boise side of the weekend.  But I do know that the boys had a blast zip-lining, kayaking, playing soccer, and visiting with the Katchners.  Brig's team played very well- and never lost a game- but only placed third, thanks to the point system.

Katry's team also placed third and did an excellent job.  Many thanks to our Super Fans- especially the ones who braved the rain!

Sunday we got together for dinner with the Thompsons.  We had a delicious dutch oven feast and homemade ice cream and were thrilled that Grandma Great got to join us.  Mark is the Super Uncle and always keeps the kiddos entertained.

Little Monkeys

Grandma Great's wheelchair was a lot of fun.  We took a walk down the street to take a look at some little goats.  We also got to see Uncle Stave's chickens.  

Seth knows how to work the system!

Kaleb is such a tenderhearted, sweet guy!

Ouch!.........Again!

Sweet, bouncy, fun-loving Kai- jumping constantly, collapses right next to the coffee table and splits his lip open.  Darn it!  Back on the table he goes with his Dad sewing him up.  He was so brave and tough and he acted like he was a pro at the whole process.  We hope he gives his face a rest for a few years.  

Poor guy didn't care for salty foods for awhile.  A week later it was all but healed up.  Amazing how the mouth heals itself so quickly!

Field Day

Seth played it cool for the first two laps and then worked his way up to the top during the last two.  He had a beautiful stride.  On the last lap he passed 5 runners .....

and here he is making his pass for his final two obstacles.

That turned the race into a dead sprint for the final 200 m.  It was the most exciting race of the day as these three sprinted to the finish. As you can see the guy on the inside lane has much longer legs than Seth and Seth wasn't able to overcome them.  He finished a second behind him.  I wish I had it video taped cause his stride was picture perfect, and he has the heart of a champion.  Way to go Seth!

The boys relay team.  They had the makings of a great finish- but the guy next to Seth gave up in the second leg after a difficult hand-off from his team mate.  Seth ran the third leg and tried to make up for it- but it just didn't happen.  

Seth is the official (in our book) winner of the running long jump.  The guy who received the blue ribbon actually scratched- unfortunately, Brigham and I were the only ones paying attention and we didn't want to say anything since doing so would look petty.  Oh well- Seth had a great jump- his longest at 13 feet.  He attributes his success to Plyometics!  

Overall- it was not what he had hoped for- but a successful day non-the-less.   It is always fun to watch him perform.  Way to go Seth!

Puzzle Mania

This cutie will work at puzzles for hours.  He loves them and the challenge.  This is a lenticular puzzle that he got for his birthday.  It's pretty tricky since it changes views, 150 pieces- but he knocked it out with no problem.  

He looks pretty pleased.

Egg Drop

Seth participated in the 6th grade Egg Drop.  He built a cool "cage" out of straws and suspended his egg in the middle.  They dropped the egg from 70 feet up- that's high!

Inauguration Day

Student Council Members get inaugurated  every year at an assembly.

Katry was sworn in as the Freshman Class Secretary

Brigham was sworn in and carried off as the Business Manager for the Student Body.

I am excited for them and this upcoming year!

Seth's Ordination Day

We were very blessed to have both sets of grandparents and some great uncles come up to help Seth receive the Aaronic Priesthood.  His Dad gave a beautiful blessing and it was a perfect day!

Dance Lessons and a Little Extra Somethin'

Our little neighbor girl came over to play with Kai.

Apparently she was teaching dance lessons.

Looks like Kai was a quick learner.

If this picture looks like he has changed his mind and you are thinking to yourself- Wow- that looks like they are about to kiss........you would be right!!!!

I was so shocked I stopped taking pictures.  Right after the "kiss" they both put their hands up to their mouths- drop their arms and walk off together.   We were all watching from the great room windows and even caught it all on video tape.  Ahhh yes- Dance lessons with a little extra somethin'!
